Native Names Project

The Native Names project is a collaborative project with indigenous communities across globe to preserve indigenous place names. The goal of this project is to not only preserve the place names but also to preserve the language and history of those locations. By using the links below the user can see maps of those locations as well as view photos, hear audio files, and in some cases view videos of those locations. Funding and resources for this project have come from a number of sources including US Geologic Survey, ESRI, Coeur d'Alene Tribe, National Park Service and Foundation Northwest.
